The 30th annual ESPY Awards will be broadcast live on ABC on July 20, 2022, after a hiatus of 29 years at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by NBA player Stephen Curry. The 2022 ESPY Awards, despite some scheduling challenges, were filled with great speeches and meaningful moments.
Stephen Curry and Best Play winner Megan Rapinoe pleaded with the United States to get WNBA star Brittney Griner back from Russia’s incarceration.
There were several skits done by Curry in addition to his traditional opening address. Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat were among those he savagely mocked. At one point, he was “interrupted” by Draymond Green.
Katie Ledecky was named the best female athlete, while Shohei Ohtani was named the greatest male sports athlete. The Warriors were voted the best team in the world.
The time has come to reveal the ESPYS winners for the current year
Curry opened the night with a scathing rebuke of numerous NBA teams and players in his opening monologue. As a token of gratitude, Grant Williams was permitted to wear one of his rings.
Other puns, such as Curry claiming the Boston Celtics to be his child, were also kept out. Here is a complete list of this year’s award winners. Throughout the show, we’ll be giving updates, with the winners in bold, so you can keep track.
