A fire chief in Philadelphia was arrested after hindering a child abuse investigation against his fellow firefighter.
Philadelphia Fire Chief Hinders Child Abuse Investigation Involving Two Fellow Firefighters
A Philadelphia fire chief named Thomas Weber was arrested after hindering an investigation about his 28-year-old fellow firefighter Deputy Chief Matthew Bateman, who was accused of sexually assaulting their junior firefighter, who was only 15 years old.
According to the investigation, the deputy chief sexually assaulted the 15-year-old junior firefighter by kissing and touching him appropriately; however, he denied the allegations of touching the victim inappropriately.
Following the incident, the Philadelphia fire chief was accused of turning a blind eye to the terrible actions of the deputy chief toward their 15-year-old junior firefighter rather than protecting the teenager from the suspect.

The Philadelphia fire chief failed his duty of protecting children who are facing child abuse following the accusations against him of hindering the investigation about the deputy chief sexually assaulting the junior firefighter.
Despite not being involved directly in the terrible act, being silent and doing nothing in a child abuse case or an investigation is also a form of tolerating the abusers.
Authorities encouraged everyone to report any possible case of child abuse and child sexual abuse, 6ABC reported.
