Early Childhood and Schooling
In Fontana on November 14, 1975, Travis Landon Barker was born. When he was younger, he was raised by Gloria (a babysitter) and Randy (a mechanic). Barker began playing the drums at the age of four. Additionally, Travis took trumpet and piano lessons as well as participated in the school choir.
Playing the drums, in his opinion, was the best method to communicate one’s thoughts and feelings. The death of Barker’s mother, who had Sjögren’s disease, occurred just before Barker was born. As a member of Fontana High School’s marching band and jazz ensemble, Travis was a self-described stoner.
