Young Justice is a Cartoon Network animated superhero series created by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman. It is a unique story set in the DC Universe with a focus on teenage and young adult superheroes, rather than a direct adaptation of Peter David, Todd Dezago, and Todd Nauck’s Young Justice comic book.
The series follows the adventures of a group of teenage superheroes and sidekicks known as “the team,” which includes Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Red Arrow, Miss Martian, and Artemis. They are members of a fictional covert operation group known simply as “the team,” but bear a strong resemblance to the Teen Titans. “The Team” is a squad of adolescent heroes that are affiliated with the famed adult team, the Justice League, but operate outside of the bureaucracy that binds the more established superhero team. The main setting is a fictional universe separate from the previous DCAU and other continuities designated at one point as Earth-16, set in a time when superheroes are a new phenomenon and supervillains have all started working together in a grand conspiracy on behalf of a cabal of key villains known as the Light.
