Patrick Stewart’s return as Jean-Luc Picard was a huge threat, but it feels like the end has come too soon. Because season two is ended, there is just one more chapter to go before we say goodbye to the good Admiral for good.
Fortunately, season two will arrive sooner than season three did. Star Trek executives opted to shoot seasons two and three back-to-back to make up for the time lost during the pandemic.
Season 3 of Star Trek: Who will return?
Picard season three will likely feature Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, Michelle Hurd as Rafaella “Raffi” Musiker, and Evan Evagora as Elnor, along with Seven of Nine’s castmate Jeri Ryan.
Alison Pill, who recently stated that Agnes Jurati will not be returning for the final season, will be an exception to this rule.
In an interview with MovieWeb, Pill said, “I know that season three will be the last.” “Season three was not a part of my viewing experience, therefore I can’t speak to any spoilers. Everyone else will be able to see it, too.”
Santiago Cabrera’s role is also in question now that Cristobal “Chris” Rios has decided to stay in the past and spend the rest of his life there instead.

Fortunately, some of the most talented actors in the business have been lined up to step in for them. Almost as soon as season two ended, Picard declared that several of the most beloved characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation will return for season three.
To name a few: Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, and LeVar Burton (Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge, Worf, Dr. Beverly Crusher, and Dr. Beverly Crusher) (Data).
Picard’s third season storyline in Star Trek
Speculation about probable plot lines is premature at this moment, but given the returning cast, it appears likely that Picard will revisit his past and reunite with old friends in the last season.
As soon as we have a more detailed summary, we can reasonably conclude that the show will not end without a whimper.
When will the third season of Star Trek: Picard premiere?
Because of this, season three began filming directly following season two, which was difficult for everyone involved, but especially for Patrick Stewart.
After the season two finale, everyone’s favorite captain revealed to Variety that production for season three was completed around March 2022 in an interview. He’s still “recovering” from it five weeks later.
That part was intense, Patrick said. “At around seven o’clock that night, we finished filming the 10 episodes of season two and started season three at seven o’clock the next morning. For the next 13 months or so, I believe. I’ve known this for more than a year.”

But on the bright side, this implies that Picard season three is expected to premiere on 9 March 2023. It is possible that fresh episodes could arrive even early, but we believe that the network would prefer to give these last two chapters some breathing room.
