Despite the fact that Euphoria’s critically acclaimed second season has come to an end, the show has been renewed for a third season. Rue, Zendaya’s character, is a recovering juvenile drug addict who narrates the HBO smash series. Will there be a third season of Euphoria on HBO?
Yes! HBO announced on February 4th that the third season of Euphoria is in the works. The network announced the wonderful news on its official Euphoria Instagram page, with the caption: “#EUPHORIA has been renewed for season 3.” The exciting news came halfway through season 2 broadcasting and was likely owing to Euphoria’s second season doubling its audience.
“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken season two to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form while maintaining its heart,” HBO’s Executive VP of Programming Francesca Orsi said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into season three.”
Season 3 is expected to have eight episodes, similar to seasons 1 and 2. However, similar to 2020/2021, there may be some character specials released before season 3 premieres.

Who will be back for Season 3?
Some characters may not return for the future season after the dramatic Season 2 finale. Fez’s “little bro” was shot by the cops when Faye’s boyfriend, Custer, told the cops that Ashtray and Fez were behind Mouse’s murder. Because the character is dead, he most likely won’t make an appearance in season 3 unless it’s in a flashback or dream sequence. Cal, Nate’s father, was also arrested near the season’s end, however, Eric Dane hinted that he would be back for season 3 on February 28, 2022.
“There’ll be an atonement,” Eric told Variety. “I mean, that’s the trajectory he’s on.” “I can’t imagine Cal’s life from solitary confinement; it’s difficult to work Cal into the storyline when he’s behind bars,” he said, adding that he hopes Cal gets a chance to “repair his relationship” with Nate in the upcoming season.
Rue also survived a dangerous situation with Laurie, therefore she’ll most certainly feature in the following season, especially because Rue never returned the suitcase with $10,000 worth of cocaine.
Dominic Fike said that his character, Elliot, will “definitely” return for the show’s third season in a February 2022 interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
When will Season 3 be released?
There is currently no indication of the status of manufacturing, let alone a release date. Season 2 arrived significantly later than expected due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. This could be the case for season 3, as the Emmy Award-winning lead actress, Zendaya, is in high demand for a number of cinematic projects, including Dune: Part Two.
On Wednesday, April 20, at Euphoria’s For Your Consideration event, the actress seemed to confirm that the show might not be back for a while. It is expected to be premiered on 21 Jan 2024.
“I believe that to be true, but I honestly don’t know,” she said. “There are some executives who know more than I do; you should question them; I’ll be busy for a long.”

There are no teasers or official trailers yet because the show was just renewed for a third season. If it’s anything like season 2, we’ll probably see a trailer about a month before the new season arrives.
