‘The Equalizer’ began on CBS on February 7, 2021, as an American crime drama. There have been two previous reboots of the franchise: one in 2014 and the other in 2018. This new film serves as a remake of the 1980s television series of the same name.
Executive producers Richard Lindheim, Michael Sloan, and Queen Latifah worked together to develop the show, which they also star as the show’s lead character. Additionally, Terri Miller, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, and John Davis serve as executive producers. While filming, Lindheim suffered a heart attack and died on January 18, 2021. The debut of the show is in honor of Lindheim’s memory.
On October 10, 2021, the second season of the series was released. The sitcom was renewed for a third and fourth season in May of that year.
The unexpected cliffhanger involving Robyn McCall
In order to avoid a showdown with Mason Quinn’s killer, Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah), anyone assumed she would let Bishop’s (Chris Noth) murder unavenged. Because she used to work for the CIA and Mel and Harry are constantly there for her, Robyn McCall has been considered too tough to bring down on CBS‘ The Equalizer.
No one is safe in Sunday night’s season finale and the message that kept reemerging following the killing of Bishop. Even more so because Robyn’s attempts to take down Quinn put her life and the lives of those around her at risk every time.
Robyn seemed to have been shot when Carter brought in Quinn’s Cuban connection Delgado for questioning. As it turned out, Quinn hadn’t been shot, and Delgado had been coerced into revealing the clever plot Quinn and he had devised. It worked, of course, and Carter, Robyn, and the CIA learned that Quinn was intending to detonate a dirty bomb in New York. Carter even persuaded Robyn to return to the CIA briefly in order to lead the task group tasked with stopping Quinn’s bombing.

On her way to tell Aunt Vi and Delilah about the case and why it had been keeping her away from them, Robyn’s car was hit by a black SUV and flipped onto its roof. It was at this point when a gang of men exited the truck, grabbed Robyn, and threw a hood over her head. It was too late for Aunt Vi and Delilah, who shouted out for Robyn, to save her. Her body had been found, and Quinn was most likely responsible for her disappearance.
Besides being terrifying for the two individuals who cared the most about Robyn, this was also devastating because Delilah and Robyn’s relationship had just reached a new level. Vera, Delilah’s best friend, has been subjected to pornographic cyberbullying by her cyberbullies. He sent the entire school a naked image of her, and she was humiliated so much that she contemplated taking her own life.
Desperate for help, Delilah turned to her mother, and Robyn’s vigilante team of Mel and Harry worked tirelessly to remove the photo and give Vera a new beginning in the wake of the scandal. It was only when the girl admitted to her parents that she had texted the boy the photo instead of having sex with him that they were able to press charges. That’s when Dante stepped up and arrested the boy in front of the entire school and turned the tables on him.
When their classmates mocked Vera, Delilah spoke up for her and reminded them that they too could be the next to fall victim to the bullies’ taunts. Vera’s classmates rallied around her, and Delilah realized Robyn was right when she said it felt wonderful to help individuals in need who couldn’t rely on traditional methods to save the day.
Delilah’s bravery may be in jeopardy now that Robyn’s life is in jeopardy. There is some good news for Robyn fans: The Equalizer has been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4, so we don’t have to worry about whether or not she will be rescued or saved.
