Undergraduate students will pay 5.5% interest on new

This academic year, undergraduate students will pay 5.5% interest on new, unsubsidized loans. In October, payments will start again.

In a report from KSN TV, people can start paying back their student loans at any time by September 2024 thanks to a transitional year implemented by the Biden administration. The missed payments won’t be reported as delinquent or marked as missing to credit bureaus. They will, though, continue to accrue interest throughout that time.

Lever claims that he finds the Financial Aid Office to be a helpful resource for learning about loans. According to Izazaga, preparation can start even before entering college. She claims that initiatives like Gear Up helped her get ready for the process of applying for loans, reports from The Wall Street Journal.
