Season 3 of The Mandalorian has been ruled out. The main Star Wars series on Disney+ will expire in December 2020, but the story will continue in the offshoot series The Book of Boba Fett, which premiered in March 2019. While Din Djarin and Grogu only had minor roles in The Book of Boba Fett, their chemistry was an important foundation for their upcoming season 3 in the Mandalorian series. In The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu and Luke were reunited after Grogu chose Din above Luke’s Jedi training. ‘
Season 3 of The Mandalorian has been kept under wraps, as is customary at Lucasfilm, and this includes the premiere date for the third season. According to The Mandalorian’s star, Giancarlo Esposito, season 3 could begin airing this summer, which would indicate an earlier comeback for the show. However, it looks like Esposito misspoke, as the most recent updates on the topic indicate that The Mandalorian will return at some point in the future.
Collider’s Steven Weintraub took to Twitter to comment on the news. According to Disney+, the third season of The Mandalorian will be released “before December 31.” Visit this link to see what he had to say:
This means that the third season of The Mandalorian will not premiere until the holiday season, which makes sense. Season 3 of The Mandalorian wrapped up filming in late March, so post-production should be completed by the end of the summer.
For Lucasfilm, it’s going to be a hectic summer. Obi-Wan Kenobi will continue to air through the end of June, and Andor is scheduled to debut in August. Having Ms. Marvel from the Marvel Cinematic Universe premiere in June, Disney+ will be able to keep its streaming service activities throughout the summer.
When you consider that She-Hulk is said to be coming out this year, it makes sense to hold off on The Mandalorian season 3. Disney+ would be able to spread out its primary endeavors and prevent cannibalism if it did this.
Is Season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+ scheduled for a release date yet?
The bad news is that no official release date has been given, but this does not rule out speculation.
Television Line has reported on rumors for the third season, which is expected to broadcast on Disney+ in December of 2022, This makes sense considering both seasons one and two were released at the same time.
As of November 2019 and October 2020, both seasons of The Mandalorian are scheduled to conclude in December. It would also include filming and the lengthy CGI and special effects process that is required to bring the program to life.
In a tweet, Carl Weathers revealed that filming on The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin in October 2021. Greef Karga is making a triumphant return to Disney+. #BePeace.”

‘He’s that all-knowing super-villain who knows everything there is to know about technology and all of these other things,’ he told Metro in October 2021. As far as I know, you’ll see Moff again… and soon. ”
Christopher Lloyd will reportedly return for Season 3 of The Mandalorian, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. There is no word yet on what his rumored guest-starring role in the show would be, but the actor’s appointment was confirmed on March 18.
Rosario Dawson and Katee Sackhoff could return as Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan in forthcoming episodes. To continue the story began in The Mandalorian, Temuera Morrison starred as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand in Season 2, and they both reprised their roles in the spinoff The Book of Boba Fett, which continues the storyline that began in Season 2.
That was all a subterfuge to mask what they were really filming. Currently, neither Wen nor Morrison are confirmed for Season 3.
I’m not sure, actually. You’ll probably figure it out before I do, so don’t worry. You guys seem to have a hand in everything, she said. Like Boba Fett, himself would say, “You’re talking to the incorrect person. I had no idea I was shooting The Book of Boba Fett.”
Everybody’s most pressing concern is whether or not Mark Hamill will return to The Mandalorian for a third season in the lead role of Luke Skywalker. A digitally aging Hamill appeared in the Season 2 finale to the delight of viewers. No word yet on whether or not he’ll be making a return trip.
This Season’s Plot Has Changed in Mandalorian Season 3
In light of the shocking conclusion to Season 2, the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian will mark a huge shift in the overall plot. In the past, Din and Grogu would travel around searching for Jedi while occasionally coming up against Imperial forces. Those days are long over. After his foundling was reunited with other Force users, the bounty hunter now has some time to himself to think about the possibilities available to him now that he is alone. His immediate options are to either leave Bo-Katan and Cara Dune and go back to living the life he had before meeting The Child, or to find a method to get back together with Grogu. both of which are likely possibilities.

A battle with Din resulted in Moff Gideon’s capture as well. So far as he can tell, he has no options left without the support of the Darksaber and Imperial forces. No one can doubt that Gideon organized his kidnapping and is now plotting how to get out of it as quickly as possible.
Due to Din’s critical blunder in “Chapter 16: The Rescue,” the Bo-Quest Katan is about to take a surprising turn. Because he disarmed Gideon, he became the legitimate owner of the Darksaber and, as a result, Mandalore’s king-to-be. This episode will need Bo-Katan to make a difficult decision, as she was the one who first sought and discovered the ancient weapon. She must decide whether or not to go to war with Din for the Darksaber, or whether or not to find alternative means of bringing all of her people together. For now, we’ll have to wait till The Mandalorian comes out in less than a year to see what happens.
