The Boys Season 3 Trailer Has Arrived
Season 3 of Prime Video’s The Boys has a new teaser, and there’s a lot to look forward to. Antony Starr’s Homelander, Jack Quaid’s Hughie, Karl Urban’s Billy (now with superpowers???, and others are back.
Homelander’s press tour following the events of season 2 is shown in the trailer (he’s simply a man who fell for the wrong woman, you see, and crisis brings transformation). Billy gains (temporary) superpowers, as well as even more of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Not to mention a lot of blood and guts to keep you going till the next season starts.
In March, the first trailer for the new season was released, revealing Ackles as the character, who appears to be a Captain America spoof. This season, Ackles reunites with Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, who also created Supernatural. There was a teaser in July 2021 that mocked Fox News before the first trailer.
We’ll take as much of The Boys as we can, even if it means stomaching the grossest things in the animated spinoff, The Boys: Diabolical, because it’s one of the 19 shows we’re looking forward to this summer.
Season 3 of The Boys will release on Prime Video on June 3

Outside of that, Claudia Doumit’s Congresswoman, Victoria Neuman, is the most well-known. She’ll undoubtedly be a big focus of Season 3 after being proven to be behind the head-exploding attacks. She and Colby Minifie (Vought PR Ashley) have been promoted to series regulars, according to Deadline.
Cindy, the escaped patient from Sage Grove, is now on the run and “as deadly as ever.” She’ll almost certainly appear in season 3 of The Boys.
Soldier Boy, a Supe who is essentially a twisted take on Captain America, is one definite new member of the cast.
Jensen Ackles, from Supernatural, will play the role.
“The very first Superhero,” writes Eric Kripke, “he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the job.” Soldier Boy has a surprising relationship with Stormfront, according to Kripke. Ackles also uploaded a photo of his new hairstyle, presumably while in quarantine for filming on The Boys — assuming this is for the show, it’s a stylistic change for Soldier Boy, who has shorter hair and is clean-shaven in the comics. The character’s first official photographs feature a less disheveled version of Ackles, with shorter hair and a beard. He’s likewise dressed to the nines, with his shield visible. Check out the images below, as well as the first look at Blue Hawk.
“The original badass is Soldier Boy,” said costume designer Laura Jean Shannon. “Our intention was to bring attention to a bygone era of bravado and tenacity. We dived headfirst into baking in an all-American quality founded in a military soldier’s practicality with a big dose of old-school cowboy swagger with that pedigree. We knew the actor had to have Steve McQueen looks and chops, as well as a John Wayne attitude, and thankfully, Jensen Ackles fits the bill.”
Sean Patrick Flannery, Nick Wechsler, and Miles Gaston Villanueva will play Gunpowder, Blue Hawk (who you can also see above), and Supersonic, respectively, in the new Supes. Crimson Countess will be played by Laurie Holden from The Walking Dead.
Season 3 will also feature Frances Turner, Kristin Booth, and Jack Doolan. Turner will play Monique, Mother’s Milk’s wife, while Booth and Doolan will portray Supes Tessa and Tommy, also known as the TNT Twins.
Stormfront (Aya Cash) and Becca (Shantel VanSanten), who both died in the season 2 finale, are among those who may not return. Of course, the show hasn’t been bashful about using other methods to bring back dead characters, such as Doppelganger’s transformation into Elizabeth Shue’s Madelyn Stilwell. So don’t count out a flashback or some cloning antics just yet. The character is still alive, according to an episode of the Seven on Seven videos, so stay tuned.
Cash, on the other hand, is very sure she’s not coming back, telling Metacritic: “The Boys will be out on June 3, and I’ll be watching it with the rest of you. That concludes my report.”
