The Bear, FX’s new smash show, will return for a second season following its incredibly successful Season 1 debut earlier this year.
Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), an up-and-coming chef, is the star of The Bear’s first season, which follows his efforts to save his brother’s faltering Chicago-based Italian beef sandwich shop after his tragic death. It’s a wild ride through a whirlwind of laughs and tears that’s easy to binge-watch.
FX had no choice but to extend the program’s run
Which bodes well for the hopes of the cast, who spoke of a possible second season during the Tribeca red carpet premiere of the show. It’s impossible to anticipate what the future holds for The Bear; nonetheless, when asked about the show’s possible return, White said, “I hope so. It would be nice if it were the case.”
As the series’ fan base has grown, so has his wish. In addition, with such a diverse group of individuals, Season 2 has a lot of potentials. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Carmy’s new employee, stole the show in Season 1 despite the fact that Carmy was the star of Season 1.
It was revealed to viewers that Sydney had a convoluted background, but they weren’t given all the details about it. However, Edebiri is open to the possibility of seeing more of that during Season 2, so we’ll have to wait and see. She explains, “I’m not like necessarily a person who needs like an eight-page backstory,” adding, “unlike Sydney, who will write graphs and charts.”
However, she admits that “it would be extremely wonderful to explore some of Sydney’s personal past and how that links to everyone in the restaurant.” However, Sydney’s past remains a little hazy. She spoke briefly about her failing catering business and her personal connection to The Original Beef of Chicagoland, a restaurant her father used to attend with her.
Her final words are, “I’m open to anything.” When it came to this year, it was like nothing I could have ever imagined. It was a real treat to be a part of. In other words, I’m all for sending Sydney to the stars, whatever the plan may be.
Many of the brilliant performers that appeared in Season 1 as cameos
Including the Bear, seem to have connected with the show’s audience. According to showrunner Joanna Calo, this is also true behind the scenes. ‘I do think that people felt that there was something unique here that they wanted to be a part of,’ she mused. And they were right, as The Bear continues to generate a lot of interest.
If Season 2 is anything like the first, we’re in for a treat. What would you like to see in Season 2? Let us know in the comments section, and we’ll keep you posted on what’s to come.
