What we know about the upcoming Shazam! sequel produced by Warner Bros. and DC is included below. The cast, release date, and plot facts for Fury of the Gods
Shazam! The first! The film was directed by David F. Sandberg and starred Asher Angel as Billy Batson, a foster child who develops magical powers and can turn into a superhero. Shazam! After Fury of the Gods, the DC Extended Universe will include a total of twelve films.
When will Shazam: Fury of the Gods be released?
Shazam! This film’s original release date has been pushed back to December 21, 2022, due to a series of scheduling conflicts.
Following Warner Bros. shifting their release schedule, the sequel was originally scheduled to open in theatres on April 1, 2022, but that date was subsequently pushed back to November 4, 2022, and then further delayed to June 2, 2023.
And ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ is now a summer 2023 film… WB was like “can’t you just use fake beards on the kids?” and I was like “If Tom Cruise is going to space for real then we can wait for the kids to grow real beards! It’s an important plot point.” https://t.co/c0krK07Ddk

Fortunately for us, the sequel was then brought up to December 2022 as a result of delays with another DC movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods cast
Asher Angel will continue to portray Billy Batson alongside Zachary Levi as Shazam. Faith Herman, Grace Fulton, Jovan Armand, Pedro Pea, Ian Chen, Eugene Choi, and Jack Dylan Grazer will reprise their roles as Billy’s foster parents.
In addition to these members of the cast, The character of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana might potentially be played by Mark Strong. Shazam’s two new antagonists have been revealed in casting news. Hespera will be played by Helen Mirren, while Kalypso will be played by Lucy Liu. Both Hespera and Kalypso are children of Atlas, the god of lightning.
There have also been reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may appear as Black Adam, however, this is yet to be confirmed.
What will Shazam Fury of the Gods be about in Shazam 2?
Only Shazam will have to cope with a furious god known at this time. As shown in the first trailer, Shazam appears to be coping with a superpower problem and battling to keep his family together. In any case, the threat posed by Atlas’ daughters is certain to alter that.
Hespera and Kalypso appear to be targeting the Shazam Family because they were given abilities at the end of the first film, which was stolen from the gods.
If Mark Strong, who played Dr. Thaddeus Sivana in the first film, isn’t returning, then we can probably put an end to the credits scene from that film. While in his cage after being kidnapped by the Shazam family, the villain appeared in this scenario.
Sivana met Mister Mind, a highly-intelligent caterpillar-like monster who is a key villain in the comics. Mister Mind is so dangerous that he has his own Monster Society of Evil, and Sivana is a frequent member.
As he tells Sivana, “Oh what fun we’re going to have together. The seven kingdoms are about to be ours,” it sounds like he’s setting up a sequel.
They refer to the Seven Magiclands, which are located on a rock that serves as an interconnecting link between them and The Rock of Eternity in comic books. Are there any plans for a Shazam Family sequel now that the Shazams have become established in the DC Universe?
Zachary Levi, the actor who plays Shazam in the DC Universe, appears to be eager for the character to join the ranks of other DC superheroes. While a team-up movie is doubtful, there may be additional cameos in the sequel.
The one restriction, the filmmakers informed Digital Spy, was that they couldn’t utilize any figure who wasn’t already in the Worlds of DC when it came to several of the original film’s DC Easter eggs.
