There Will Be Six Episodes in the New Season
According to head writer Justin Young, Sanditon has continued its innovative process of producing six episodes for the upcoming season. As a result of this, Season 3 will comprise six episodes, just like the recently aired Season 2, which was eight episodes in total. If you’ve seen Season 2, you know that the authors are capable of delivering a number of surprising twists and swoon-worthy romances in just six episodes.
In the second season of Sanditon, what occurred there?
When season 2 begins, Sanditon has become a popular tourist destination in its own right, nine months after season 1.
At the insistence of her mother, Mary Parker (Kate Ashfield), Charlotte (Rosie Graham), returns to the picturesque coastal resort with her sister, Alison. After attracting the attention of both Colonel Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones) and the recluse Alexander Colbourne, Charlotte quickly finds herself attracted to more men (Ben Lloyd-Hughes).
Georgiana Lambe (Crystal Clarke) is about to turn 21 when she meets eccentric artist Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos), only to realize that he is a distant relative of her father who wants to give her inheritance to the Antiguan courts. Following his defeat in the courtroom, Lockhart decided to woo Georgiana and marry her in order to obtain access to her inheritance.
As a governess to the daughter and niece of Colbourne, Charlotte accepts a position in the household. After spending time with Augusta and Leonora, she begins to see her boss from a new perspective. After the death of Colbourne’s wife, the two have had a long-standing animosity for one another.
A miscarriage forces Esther Denham Babington (Charlotte Spencer) to travel to Sanditon alone (Mark Stanley, who was unavailable for season 2). Esther becomes further despondent when pregnant Clara shows up at Denham’s doorstep while searching for a miraculous tincture. Upon learning that the child is his, Edward devises a strategy to make Esther appear mad while he appears to be bold and a gentleman to his aunt Lady Denham.
When the Army moves into Sanditon, it brings with it new opportunities for romance and relationships, as well as new obstacles for the town’s citizens. Maxim Ays plays the hero, and Alison is smitten by Captain William Carter. Because of this, Alison has a newfound respect for the brave and honorable Captain Declan Fraser (Frank Blake). The finale of season 2 sees the couple get married
Ralph Starling (Cai Brigden), a Willingdon farmer and the son of the Parker family, is introduced to Charlotte’s parents and sister-in-law during the wedding festivities.
