There have been online rumblings that Cartoon Network will be closing its doors sometime this year.
Cartoon Network was the premiere destination for innovative children’s programming throughout the 1980s and 1990s, while today’s children were still in diapers.
Now that streaming services are ubiquitous, we can watch whatever we want, whenever we want. Losing Cartoon Network would be devastating. There is absolutely no need for an alarm.
How Did This Rumor First Form?
Due to a disturbing rumor circulating online, many loyal Cartoon Network viewers are inquiring amongst themselves about the channel’s future.
On October 1, 2022, the Cartoon Network will reportedly “shut down” a string of popular shows like “Craig of the Creek,” “Total Dramarama,” “The Amazing World of Gumball,” “Elliot from Earth,” and “The Fungies,” according to the Cartoon Network fandom page.
This also implies that after Cartoon Network is shut down, these shows will be made available on HBO Max. To no one’s surprise, the crowd started freaking out.

Obviously, the company doesn’t intend to shut down in a matter of months, or else it wouldn’t be making such an announcement now.
Yet Some Supporters Were Dupe-Able by The Hoax

Another victim exclaimed, “Damn Cartoon Network shutting down this year?? ” after falling for the fake.
No it's Dexter, just the wrong end credits. But I hope Cartoon Network airs My Gym Partner's A Monkey before they shut down their classics block. The least that could happen is My Gym Partner's A Monkey airs on the day of Cartoon Network's 30th Anniversary, October 1st. 😐
