The BAU is returning, this time to Paramount+. Paramount+ announced in February 2020 that it would be resuming the procedural drama Criminal Minds with a 10-episode series that the team would investigate “one, the interesting case” a year after CBS ended its 15-season run on the show. Streaming service Netflix has ordered the return to a full-length television series, according to TVLine. Some familiar faces are back for the new season’s 10 episodes, including Joe Mantegna (David Rossi), Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss), A. J. Cook (Jennifer “J. J.” Jareau), Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia), Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez), and Aisha Tyler (Dr. Tara Lewis).

After Mantegna tweeted a photo of himself on the set of a very familiar-looking film

The confirmation came the following day. Using the hashtag #Criminal Minds he said, “Just doing a little inspection today for an upcoming assignment”.

They’d been working as profilers to find UnSubs for a while when the BAU last saw Rossi, Prentiss (Daniel Henney‘s character), Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), JJ, Luke, and Tara (all played by the same actors). This time around, (Gubler and Henney won’t be returning to the show). After leaving the FBI for non-profit work, we’re left to question whether Garcia has rejoined the agency full-time or was brought back into the fold for a specific case.

What about their relationship? We’ll have to wait and see what Garcia wrote in the note she left for her successor.

What Executive producer Erica Messer told TV Insider?

Erica Messer told a tv insider following the original series end, “We’re never going to disclose. This can be anything you want it to be.

This raises the question of whether or not anyone has been promoted since the end of Season 1 of CriminalMinds, and the beginning of Season 2. It’s rare for anyone to stay in the same job at the FBI for so long without trying out running a field office in another city, or even just a different division, Messer said after the conclusion.

Prentiss’s possible nomination as the FBI’s first female director

This is something I’d want to see happen in the next five years. That would be fantastic, in my opinion. For Prentiss, we might have gone that route had this show aired. For JJ, who is capable of running her own field office, it would only make sense for her to do so if her family was also willing to relocate. There will still be some consulting work for Rossi in the future. Nobody can take his intellect away from them now that he hasn’t given up trying to solve situations.
