As My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 production got underway in Greece, Nia Vardalos got to see her on-screen husband John Corbett again.

In Rafina, a town about 30 kilometers outside of Athens, the dynamic duo was seen Wednesday filming sequences for the movie. This time around, Nia, 59, has a lot on her plate because she doubles as the director and the movie’s star.

Will There Be a Season 3?

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’ is a script that I created, and Nia Vardalos has been attempting to film it for more than a year now. We’re not filming, though, which is also true. Vardalos said to her Instagram followers, “It seems like indie movies can’t get insurance since we are an independent movie. Please DM Nia if you know someone who wants to ensure this much-awaited movie.

“Even while I appreciate your zeal, perhaps some of you shouldn’t keep calling my mother’s home to inquire about being let in. Yes, everyone can take part if we can simply acquire the insurance, she said. The news is also continuously improving Greece is where the movie will be filmed once it has insurance! The third installment of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” has been long anticipated by fans.

We’d be lying if we said we weren’t overjoyed. The expected release date of season 3 be 28 October 2022

Who plays what roles?

No further cast members have been revealed, however, Vardalos will return as Toula. I am honestly incredibly delighted with Joey Fatone’s apparent involvement in the project on Instagram.

Gus the patriarch’s on-screen counterpart, Michael Constantine, passed away in 2021. Given that Toula’s mother, Maria, was portrayed by 82-year-old Lainie Kazan, we can only speculate as to whether she will be involved.

Film Production has begun!

Opa! In an Instagram video taken in her hotel in The Plaka, Nia Vardalos announced the beginning of filming on My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 in Athens yesterday. In addition to serving as the movie’s director, Vardalos will also play the role of Toula Portokalos.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3': Everything to Know

Greece will be the location of Toula and Ian’s (John Corbett) daughter Paris’ wedding, according to sources who spoke to Deadline. Prior to the Covid-19 epidemic, Vardalos had first stated that My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 was in the works. Michael Constantine, who passed away in August 2021, will receive a special tribute in the third installment.

The film My Big Fat Greek Wedding depicts the tale of Toula, a single woman who works at her family’s restaurant and is continually pressured by her ethnically Greek parents to find a Greek husband and start a family. She meets an American instructor who teaches in the country, much to their dismay, and she eventually marries him. Her family is first upset that she didn’t wed a fellow Greek, but they eventually come to love and accept Ian for who he is—a fine man who adores Toula without condition.

What is Film About?

The family probably takes a vacation because Nia Vardalos made her announcement video in Athens! The initial license for Gus and matriarch Maria’s remarriage was never signed in the sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Additionally, Ian and Toula renew their vows, and Paris, the couple’s daughter, attends prom and later college. I’ll just say it right now: Gus’ funeral most likely opens this film.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Review

Kirk Jones and Nia Vardalos’ 2016 romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is set in the same world as the first movie. The movie, a sequel to 2002’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding, stars Vardalos, John Corbett, Lainie Kazan, Michael Constantine, Andrea Martin, Ian Gomez, and Elena Kampouris. In Toronto, the shooting started in late May 2015.

A $15 million opening weekend take from 3,133 cinemas was predicted for the movie. After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million) and Zootopia ($24 million), it earned $7.2 million on its first day and $17.9 million for its debut weekend to place third at the box office. After Batman v Superman ($51.3 million) and Zootopia ($19.3 million), the movie took in $11.2 million (a 37.2 percent decline) in its second weekend to place third once more.
