What is the plot of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The epic legends of Middle-famed earth’s Second Age will be brought to screens in a new series from Prime Video. This epic drama will transport viewers to a time when great powers were born, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, improbable heroes were put to the test, hope was hung by the thinnest of threads, and the greatest monster Tolkien ever wrote threatened to engulf the entire world in darkness.
The series begins in a time of relative peace and follows an ensemble cast of people, both known and new, as they face the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth. These countries and characters will carve out legacies that will last long after they are gone, from the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the gorgeous woodlands of the elf capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Nmenor, to the farthest reaches of the world.

Galadriel, Elrond, and High King Gil-galad are among the characters that have been featured in the series’ first look photographs and official teaser video. Is there going to be another? To find out, you’ll have to wait.
What’s the name of the new series’ creator?
Executive producers Gennifer Hutchison (Breaking Bad), Jason Cahill (The Sopranos), Justin Doble (Stranger Things), Bryan Cogman (Game of Thrones) and Stephany Folsom (Toy Story 4), producer Ron Ames (The Aviator), co-producer Helen Shang (Hannibal), and writing consultant Glenise Mullins are among the writers.
Images and posters from Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The first image from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power depicted a lone figure in a white cloak standing on a grassy hillside, looking out toward a grand city and the Two Trees of Valinor, which had been long since destroyed in Bilbo’s time, standing as shining, ethereal titans in the distance.
After being swallowed by Shelob’s mother Ungoliant, these trees literally became the sun and moon, making them extremely significant in Middle-earth. And, given that the series will track evil’s return to this perfect world, the two of them are unlikely to last long.
There is also a slew of character posters from the Lord of the Rings films to peruse, simply to get a sense of the grandeur of what Amazon is doing. There are a large number of important characters in this story.
Each character is clutching an object, ranging from swords to acorns, that reveals what they will be doing throughout the episode. There’s a sword with a horse on the hilt (perhaps a Rohan warrior), an Elvish-looking weapon, a staff held by someone wearing blue robes (maybe one of the blue wizards? ), and one gnarly, Ringwraith-like creature.
The shattered blade, which Tyroe Muhafidin is wielding, is one of the most intriguing. The character, whose entire description can be seen at the top of this page, is a mystery. Amazon also released a photo of Bronwyn, who is played by Nazanin Boniadi, beside a picture of Theo.
With regard to the newcomer, Amazon has again held its cards close to its chest. Why is she looking out over a river, somberly? What are we to make of this? In any event, as we get closer to the September release date, we should expect to see more and more photographs from The Lord of the Rings series.
