Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson; April 27, 1988) is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, moved to Houston, Texas, and then moved to Minneapolis, where she began recording hip hop music. Lizzo released two studio albums prior to signing with Nice Life and Atlantic Records: Lizzobangers (2013) and Big Grrl Small World (2015). With her debut EP for a big label, Coconut Oil, Lizzo broke onto the music scene.

It was disclosed by Lizzo in a recent interview
She and Wright had known each other before Lizzo became a worldwide sensation in 2019 with her album Cuz I Love You. The “real individuals” in her life included Wright, according to the woman who spoke to the reporter.
She said, “I’m surrounded by the most sincere people. “Lizzo” with the chain on is completely irrelevant to them. People who are close to me knew who I was before this whole ordeal, and that means a lot to me since they are concerned about ‘Melissa,’ too.”
She went on, saying that she was not done “Even the man I’m currently dating, he was aware of my existence prior to this. We were close buddies. People’s reaction to you was different if they had known you prior to 2019.”

“About Damn Time” will be published on April 14 in accordance with Lizzo’s announcement made on March 23rd, 2022. In addition to announcing the title of her upcoming fourth studio album, Lizzo also disclosed the release date for Special, which will arrive on July 15 this year. As a host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live on April 16, 2022, she made a triumphant return.
The first promotional song from Special, “Grrrls,” was released by Lizzo on June 10, 2022. The term “spaz” in the song’s lyrics sparked a lot of debate. Following a statement from Lizzo, “being a large black woman in America, I’ve had numerous terrible remarks used against me so I over understand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case, accidentally)”.
In 2022, Lizzo released her fourth studio album, Special, which was met with critical praise upon its first release on July 15th. In New York City’s Cipriani 25 Broadway, Lizzoverse, an immersive cosmic light show set to Special, was broadcast live on Twitch.
