Moore’s mother, Stacy (née Friedman), was a journalist for the Orlando Sentinel, and his father, Donald Moore, was a pilot for American Airlines. Moore was born on April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Moore was brought up Catholic, but she stopped practicing in 2004 and since then has built her own “hotchpotch of stuff” to believe. Moore is of English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry in addition to having Jewish ancestry through her maternal grandparents from Russia.

She is the middle sibling, with two brothers: Scott, her older brother, and Kyle, her younger brother. Moore and her family relocated to Longwood, Florida, a suburb of Orlando when she was just two months old so that her father could take a job there. Moore attended Orlando’s Bishop Moore Catholic High School for his junior and senior years, 1998 and 1999.

Career

Moore made her big screen debut in Eddie Murphy’s 2001 comedy Dr. Dolittle 2, in which she voiced a Girl Bear Cub. Following that, in the same year, Moore appeared alongside Anne Hathaway in the comedy The Princess Diaries. Moore co-starred alongside Shane West in the 2002 romance movie A Walk to Remember, her first film role.

Moore began recording what would become her fourth studio album in 2003, an album of cover songs titled Coverage. The album entered the chart at position #14. Chasing Liberty, a romantic comedy released in 2004, had Moore in a supporting role. Moore appeared in Saved!, a Christian satire comedy-drama, toward the end of 2004.
