McHale makes a joke about how he got both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from UW in the video, saying, “Yes, I really can’t believe that either.” While I wasn’t in class (which I wasn’t), I was sitting on the bench in my purple and gold Husky outfit as one of the best tight ends in school history.

Who Is Joel Edward Mc Hale?
Joel Edward McHale is an American actor, comedian, and TV host; he was born on November 20, 1971. Both his hosting of The Soup (2004-2015) and his portrayal as Jeff Winger on the NBC comedy series Community have brought him widespread fame (2009–2015).
He has appeared in the movies Spider-Man 2 (2004), Open Season 2 (2008), Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011), Ted (2012), and The Happytime Murders (2014). (2018).
In addition, he played Sylvester Pemberton/Starman on the Disney Channel series Stargirl and appeared in the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors (2016–2017). (2020–present). Early Life
On November 20, 1971, McHale was born to Jack McHale, the Dean of Students at Loyola University’s Rome Center, and Laurie McHale. Both his American father and Canadian mother are from Chicago.
McHale is a devout Catholic who hails from Irish and Norwegian stock. He spent his childhood on Mercer Island in Washington and his early adulthood in Haddonfield, New Jersey. His alma mater was Mercer Island High.
He attended the University of Washington and graduated with a degree in history in 1995. He temporarily pledged to the Theta Chi fraternity but eventually dropped out because he “couldn’t take it.
Acting Career
McHale joined the cast of the second season of the horror-comedy show Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix in the recurring role of Chris in 2018.
Stargirl, a show from the DC Universe and The CW cast Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton, the Golden Age version of Starman, in December 2018.
In the third season, he was given a regular role after making cameos in the prior two. McHale appeared on The Masked Singer as a guest panelist in seasons 2 episodes 8 and 9.
McHale appeared as a panelist in Episode 3 of Season 5, Episode 3 of Season 6, and Episode 7 of Season 6. In Season 4, he appeared in Episodes 3 and 4, and in the former episode, he performed “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke as the “Robin” (depicted as a cut-out face of Robin Thicke).

Personal Life
Joel McHale married Sarah Williams in July of 1996, and the couple now resides in the Hollywood Hills with their two kids, Isaac and Eddie. In an interview with Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert from 2018, McHale disclosed he is dyslexic after learning of the diagnosis for his sons.
McHale has admitted to being a watch enthusiast, a hobby that began when stylist Jose Camilo convinced him to wear a Ritmo Mundo timepiece and later prompted him to purchase a Bell & Ross military timepiece.
McHale follows both the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Gladiators in the NFL and the eSports industry, respectively.
