Halle Lynn Bailey, born Halle Lynn Bailey on March 27, 2000, is an American singer and actress who goes by the stage name Halle. Her sister Chloe Bailey, with whom she forms the musical combo Chloe x Halle, has received five Grammy nominations since the trio formed in 2018. She has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards for her performance as Skyler Forster in the television sitcom Grown-ish, and she will portray Ariel in the live-action Disney feature The Little Mermaid.
Career
At the tender age of three, Halle Bailey began her acting career in films such as Joyful Noise (2012) and Let It Shine (2012), both of which she appeared in while living in Georgia (2012).
When they were 11 and 13, the duo posted a cover of Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had” to their YouTube page. Another Beyonce song was their first “viral” video, a version of Pretty Hurts. In the beginning, they performed as Chloe x Halle on their YouTube channel by uploading cover versions of popular songs. In April of that year, they appeared on The Ellen Show for the first time as a talking pair.
After winning Season 5 of Radio Disney’s The Next Big Thing in 2013, the Bailey sisters appeared on the Disney series Austin & Ally and sang the song “Unstoppable” the following September.
While still minors in May of 2015, both sisters were in negotiations with Parkwood Entertainment to sign contracts stating that they would receive “at least $60,000” and “advances that could total almost $1 million if they make at least six albums,” which were submitted to the Manhattan Supreme Court. Finally, in 2016, Parkwood Entertainment signed them to a five-year contract with Beyonce, making them “[her] first actual musical successors,” as NPR puts it, and also “Beyonce’s prodigies.”.
Amandla Stenberg and Zendaya were also included in the video for Freedom in Beyoncé’s namesake visual album Beyoncé: Lemonade, which premiered on HBO in April of that year.
Halle Bailey’s Past Love Interests
Halle keeps a low profile when it comes to love and relationships. The artist has never been seen with anyone in public before. On Instagram live with Chloe, she did reveal her ideal male companion. According to her comments in the Livestream, “Number one, Chloe and I don’t have similar tastes in men. She’s attracted to handsome men.” Despite Chloe’s claim that “a guy with some sort of confidence and swag” is what Halle prefers, she responds by saying, “Doesn’t everyone?” As of right now, this is the only indication of Halle’s dating preferences.
Halle Bailey’s New Love Interest: Who Is He?
After she was spotted out with DDG, Halle’s dating status has become a big subject on social media. An American rapper and YouTuber, DDG was born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. DDG began composing music in 2014, shortly after launching his YouTube account.
The first studio album Valedictorian was released in 2019 in conjunction with the success of his YouTube channel (currently 2.66 million subscribers). Moonwalking in Calabasas peaked at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending 11 weeks there. In June of 2021, the song was certified gold.
As soon as Usher performed in Las Vegas on Jan. 1, rumors started flying that Halle and DDG were dating. During the concert, Halle and DDG can be seen sitting close together in a video that was obtained by The Shade Room. When Usher does something on stage that makes Halle giggle, she turns to DDG and tells him she loves him.
After the show finished, Usher shared photographs of the two of them backstage on his Instagram story, tagging both of their Instagram accounts in the process.
Even while rumors of a relationship between Halle and DDG have grown, neither artist has confirmed or rejected the rumors.
