During a segment of her Daily Wire podcast, Owens argued that African-Americans should be more concerned about issues like abortion, “black-on-black” crime, educational standards, and obesity. Owens also defended the outfits she and West wore to Paris Fashion Week.
At this point, she included Lizzo in her rant. What we should have done, Owens suggested, is put a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt on Lizzo. Perhaps more attention would have been paid to the fact that black Americans are dying prematurely from obesity if we had done so.

The Owens family settled for $37,500 in federal court in January 2008 after filing a lawsuit against the Stamford Board of Education on behalf of Owens, claiming that the city had failed to adequately protect her rights.
