As he prepares to play with Margot Robbie in the live-action Barbie film, Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling has been spotted for the first time as the beloved Mattel Ken doll.
In a daring double denim costume on Wednesday, the 41-year-old actor flaunted his orange-hued tan and muscular chest, as well as his bleached-white hair for the fictional character.
Transformation of Ryan Gosling as Doll
Warner Bros. published the first image of Ryan in an April tweet that only said the film’s title and a July 21, 2023 release date, which was previously announced when they shared the first image of Margot, 31, like Barbie.
Ryan Gosling looks to be dressed as the ‘Earring Magic Ken‘ version of Mattel’s 1993 doll, which was released as a complement to the ‘Earring Magic Barbie’ figure.
Ken had golden highlights instead of his usual brown hair in this edition of the Ken doll.
A lavender mesh blouse, a purple leather jacket, and jewellery, including an earring and a necklace, were also included in the doll’s ensemble.
It was the best-selling Ken doll of all time when it was released, and it made a sensation when some claimed that the designers were inspired by the homosexual partying scene in New York and Los Angeles in the early 1990s.
Ryan is noted for his sombre roles in films including Drive, Blade Runner 2049, Blue Valentine, and Half Nelson. Ken, with his cheesy grin and white undies with his character’s name, appears to be a departure for the actor.

‘Something like Barbie, where the IP, the name itself, people immediately get a sense of, ‘Oh Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is,” Robbie explained to The Hollywood Reporter about the project.
