Roman became well-known after appearing on the first season of The Real World: Los Angeles in 1993. Following a number of guest spots and supporting roles in shows and films during the ’90s and ’00s, Roman emerged as a major player on Vh1’s Basketball Wives.

As for Tami, it was the latter that led to the development of her body dysmorphic disorder. Once, a modeling agent had Tami stand in front of a mirror and tell her, “You have some folds in your back. Your knees are swollen because of your excess fat. Chin exercises are a need. Your bust is drooping.'”
And that night when I got home, every time I looked in the mirror I saw something wrong with myself,” Tami said. Due to the traumatic experience, Tami started doing extraordinary things to maintain her weight.
Career
In the midst of her stay on The Real World: Los Angeles, Roman put together a four-piece R&B girl group under the name Reality. Roman was not only one of the four group members but also the group’s rapper. They also got a contract with Mercury Records around this period.
The track was titled “Prisoner of Your Love,” but according to Tami, the producer who helped them was a nightmare to work with. The band stopped working with him, therefore the song was never recorded. While still under contract with Mercury Records in 1994, Roman rebranded the band as Female from its previous moniker, Reality. It was proposed that the group, along with other African-American girl groups, record a cover of R&B singer Joi’s song “Freedom” for the Panther movie’s soundtrack album.
R&B female groups En Vogue, SWV, TLC, For Real, Xscape, Brownstone, Y? N-Vee, and Changing Faces all contributed to the song.

Personal Life
Roman has gone through two marriages and produced two offspring. Roman married NBA star Kenny Anderson on August 26, 1994; the couple has two daughters, Lyric Chanel (born in ’94) and Jazz Anderson (born in ’96). (b. 1996).
In February 2001, Roman and Anderson filed for divorce. Roman and Reggie Youngblood tied the knot in August of 2018.
