Early life:
Robert James Gronkowski was born on May 14, 1989, in Amherst, New York. He grew up in Williamsville with his mother Diane, father Gordon (a former football player for Syracuse University), brothers Glenn, Dan, Gordie, and Chris, all of whom have played professionally, and his father Gordon’s siblings. Up until he was 14 years old, Rob preferred hockey to hoops.
He participated in sports for Williamsville North High School as a tight end, defensive end, and freshman kickoff specialist in football, basketball (center), and baseball (first baseman), and after the family moved to Pennsylvania, he participated in sports for Woodland Hills High School in Pennsylvania. During his high school years, Gronkowski won a number of accolades, including being named to the All-Western New York first team, SuperPrep All-American, and Associated Press Class 4-A All-State teams. After graduating from high school in 2007, Rob received interest from a number of institutions but decided to enroll at the University of Arizona.
A short view of Rob’s career
Rob has made appearances in a number of movies and television shows, including “Entourage” (2015), “Family Guy” (2017), “The Clapper” (2017), and even “The Masked Singer” (2020). Rob is well-known for appearing in Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj’s Swish Swish music video.
In a couple of WWE shows, the NFL star also appeared. He made an appearance on the WrestleMania 36 TV special as well as in a 2020 Monday Night RAW program. He started dating Camille Kostek, a model for Sports Illustrated, in 2015.

Star informs the NFL of his retirement
Rob posted a thorough social media message announcing his retirement. The athlete talked about how playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and being in the NFL had always been his dreams.
“I always chose to be a professional football player whenever I had to write about my future. But for that task, we had to decide where to go. As a result, I stated that I wanted to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers there for a variety of reasons, the warm weather being just one of them.
“I will now be returning to my retirement home, walking away from football once more with my head held high knowing I gave it everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped out on the pitch,” the 33-year-old writes. The NFL tight end praised both the Buccaneers club and his supporters for their support.
Does he spend his NFL money?
On Tuesday, one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Rob Gronkowski, announced his (again) retirement. The fact that Gronk won four Super Bowls and grossed $70 million during his 11-year NFL career—money that he reportedly never touched—may be just as remarkable as his stellar on-field success and outspoken demeanor.
Instead, Gronkowski decided to rely on the income he received through endorsements, which included agreements with USAA, Dunkin’ Donuts, Visa, T-Mobile, Lyft, Cheerios, Monster Energy Drink, and Lyft. However, none of this is actually shocking.
In his 2015 book It’s Good to be Gronk, Gronkowski said he had not used any of the money from his signing bonus or NFL contract, claiming he lived off “marketing money” and wasn’t concerned with getting “expensive vehicles,” “expensive jewelry,” or “tattoos.”
