Kathleen Zellweger (born April 25, 1969), better known as Renée Zellweger, is an American actress. She was one of the highest-paid actresses in the world in 2007 after winning several awards, including two Academy Awards, two BAFTAs, and four Golden Globes.
Career
Zellweger attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied English literature. Aspiring to be a journalist, she became interested in acting after doing some acting during her undergraduate years.
After minor roles in Dazed and Confused (1993) and Reality Bites (1994), she had her first starring role in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994). Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt gained to fame with parts in the comedies Jerry Maguire (1996) and One True Thing (1998). She won a Golden Globe for her performance in the black comedy Nurse Betty (2001).
