On the TLC reality show Toddlers in Tiaras, we first met Mama June Shannon and her daughter Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo). June, Alana, and the rest of the family have since had their own spin-off reality series (anyone remembers Here Comes Honey Boo Boo?) and have become well-known in the public eye. Mama June’s dramatic physique transformation, on the other hand, thrust her into the limelight.
Mama June has been quite open about her weight loss journey, to the point where she has created a new television show, Mama June: From Not to Hot, based on it. It hasn’t been an easy road for her, from hiring a personal trainer to altering her eating habits to undergoing surgery.
As much as we urge everyone to love themselves, there’s nothing wrong with making adjustments to feel more confident, as long as no one harms themselves or does it for the benefit of someone else. In June, both inside and out, there are significant changes. Here are 15 photographs that show how far she’s come.
Mama June Shannon before and after
Mama June’s (born June Shannon) journey into the spotlight was a big change for her. Mama June was frequently photographed by paparazzi, as seen in this shot. But she was soon ready to try something new, and she began to place a greater emphasis on her physical health and well-being.
Mama June became the star of Mama June: From Not to Hot after her and her daughter’s sitcom, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Mama June fully turned into a knockout on the show, which followed the reality star’s overall lifestyle evolution. Mama June was fully prepared to embrace a new chapter in her life now that she had the skills she needed to take care of herself and feel wonderfully gorgeous.
Mama June’s relationship with boyfriend Geno Doak, on the other hand, took a dramatic turn. June and Geno were detained for drug possession, as well as drug paraphernalia, in March of this year. June essentially vanished from the lives of her daughters. Thankfully, the star’s fortunes appear to be improving. June announced her 11-month drug-free streak in December 2020.
