Career Beginnings
At the time of his birth in 1981, Jesse Williams was the only child of Reginald Williams and skilled potter Johanna. As a result of his father’s African-American heritage and his mother’s Swedish heritage, he is of mixed race.

Williams had previously appeared in two episodes of ABC Family’s “Greek” as Drew Collins, but in 2009 he launched his largest role yet as Jackson Avery on the medical drama series “Grey’s Anatomy.” His role on the show solidified when the show’s seventh season aired, and he was cast as a regular thereafter.

In 2012, Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee, his longtime girlfriend, tied the knot. Sadie, a daughter, and Maceo, a son, are the couple’s only children. Divorce proceedings were started in the spring of 2017.
Their divorce proceedings revealed that Jesse makes $521,000 a month ($6.25 million a year) in income.
