An American actress, comedian, and singer by name of Jane Krakowski. She is most well known for playing the lead character of Jenna Maroney in the NBC satirical comedy series 30 Rock from 2006 to 2013 and 2020, for which she was nominated four times for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Other prominent television performances include Jacqueline White in the Netflix comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Elaine Vassal in the Fox legal comedy-drama series Ally McBeal 1997–2002.
She was nominated for an additional Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the latter.
Early Life
On October 11, 1968, in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, Jane Krajkowski was born. Her father Ed worked as a chemical engineer, while her mother Barbara taught theatre in colleges.
Jane’s parents, who were both active in the local theater community, “took along with them instead of employing babysitters.
” She attended Parsippany High School, the Professional Children’s School in New York City, and the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
Krakowski has an elder brother. When Jane was 4 years old, she started taking ballet lessons but later decided to concentrate on Broadway dancing.
Career
At the age of 18, Krakowski made her Broadway debut as Dinah the Dining Car in a 1987 performance of “Starlight Express” at the Gershwin Theatre.
Her subsequent performance in a 1989 production of “Grand Hotel,” in which she played Frieda “Flaemmchen” Flamm, led to Jane’s first Tony nomination. She performed in “Company” at the Criterion Center Stage Right in 1995 after playing Jessica Ryan in “Face Value” at the Cort Theatre in 1993.
