“The Covenant” stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim revealed how director Guy Ritchie’s unique process awakened them during filming.
The New Sides of Filmmaking
“The Covenant” has awakened new sides of Gyllenhaal and Salim’s craft, and it was all thanks to director Guy, who made the filming great on both stars, Collider reported.
During an interview, Salim stated that working with Guy initially frightened him because the director was known for being hands-on on set. However, Guy reminded him to trust the process, which awakened him to just throw everything away while trusting the people he was working with.
Gyllenhaal agreed with Salim and claimed both of them would later be awakened in the beauty of their craft, with Guy explaining the process to them.

Guy Ritchie’s Unique Processes
Director Guy encourages actors to learn everything from the morning discussions rather than just memorize lines. Gyllenhaal revealed that the director wrote the scenes every morning and then let them change, evolve, and add other things while filming.
Working with Guy taught both actors how their imagination can greatly help the process, which they can apply to future projects.
“The Covenant,” directed by Guy Richie, will be released on the big screen on April 21.
