Wide receiver and Jefferson High School star Elijah DeWitt has tragically passed away at the age of 18. Two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, are suspected of shooting and killing him in a shopping mall parking lot on Wednesday, October 5.
Once upon a time, Jefferson High School had a standout wide receiver named Elijah DeWitt. He excelled at wide receiver for Jefferson and was a school legend. The funeral for DeWitt will be held in the Jefferson High School auditorium on Wednesday. According to what DeWitt’s mom shared with 11Alive, According to Dawn, “He loved football, he was ready and willing to do whatever it takes to go D1,” which was his ultimate goal.
Dawn reflected, “Elijah was the kindest soul; he was very tender and he loved people. She gushed about how “full of life and love and courage” he was. “I wish I could just have the journey back; it was a privilege to be a part of it.” In addition, Reidling remarked, “He cared more than anyone I’ve ever met. Because he reminds me of my father was one of the reasons I loved him so much.
Early Life
In 2004, Elijah DeWitt was born in the United States; he was 18 years old when he passed away. As for her family, including her parents and siblings, we don’t know a whole lot. But we’ll make an effort to collect their data soon.

Matt Johnson from Channel 2 was in Gwinnett County on Monday, where DeWitt’s family has been searching for answers.
Despite initial reports from police that the three were likely known to each other, Elijah DeWitt’s parents told Johnson that he was not friends with Bryan and Richardson.
Delaney DeWitt, Elijah’s sister, has been mourning her brother’s death ever since he was murdered. She explained that holding a vigil for her brother was the first step toward healing and moving on.
Delaney DeWitt said, “Elijah wouldn’t want me to just sit around and cry.” I’m sure that’s exactly what Elijah would have wanted. He would hope that we can all keep our chins up and find common ground. We won’t just sit here and give up.

Bailey Reidling, Who Dates De Witt, Has Said that He Is a Protector of His Family
I just want everyone to know that deep down he was a good, gentle man. “He was like a guardian angel for everyone,” Reidling remarked. I really admire how you looked out for Delaney. That’s why I held such a high opinion of him.
Each of Bryan and Richardson’s names appeared on the murder charge sheet. Although the police have not disclosed a motive, they have said the shooting occurred after a fight broke out in the parking lot.
The DeWitts need some sort of explanation. He’ll always be with me, silently telling me, “You got this.” Delaney Dewitt advised, “Don’t give up; give it your all.”
Life of Elijah DeWitt
When he was a senior at Jefferson High and a star wide receiver, he hoped to play college football. Unfortunately, fate had other ideas and cut his life tragically short. Two suspects, Kemare Bryan, 18, and Chandler Richardson, 19, have been arrested and charged with the teen’s murder.
On Wednesday, DeWitt’s funeral will be held in the auditorium of Jefferson High School, and thousands of friends and family members are expected to attend. DeWitt and his girlfriend, Bailey Reidling, were nearby at the time of the incident outside of the Lawrenceville Dave & Buster’s and the Sugarloaf Mills Mall. A person calling 911 could hear Reidling screaming in the background.
DeWitt’s mom talked to the media about her son’s plans and ambitions. Dawn reportedly said of her husband, “He was passionate about football.” She also reportedly said that he wanted nothing more than to play football at the Division 1 level.

Keeping in Mind the Nicest Man
Dawn said that Elijah was the nicest person she’d ever met, and she also mentioned how much he enjoyed interacting with others. ‘He was fearless and so full of life,’ she said. I mean, he was a true lifer. I wish I could rewind time and be a part of that moment again.
