At Osan Air Base in South Korea in 1958, Chuck Norris served as an Air Patrolman. He began training in martial arts while he was there. As soon as he returned to America following his time in the military, he was stationed at March Air Force Base, California. He was honourably dismissed from the Air Force at the end of the 1962 summer season. In Torrance, California, he applied to be a police officer and founded a martial arts school at the same time. Since then, Norris has been participating in martial arts competitions.
