Christina Milian is an American-Cuban actress, singer, and songwriter who was born Christine Marie Flores on September 26, 1981. She signed a contract with Murder Inc. Records at the age of 19 after being born in Jersey City, New Jersey, but reared in Maryland. Milian’s self-titled debut album was published in 2001, and it included the singles “AM to PM” and “When You Look at Me,” both of which charted in the top three on the UK Singles Chart. Milian’s second studio album, It’s About Time, was released in 2004, and featured her first significant American hit, “Dip It Low,” which peaked at number five on the Billboard list. The album’s second single, “Whatever U Want” was released. Both singles reached the UK top ten.
Milian’s third studio album, So Amazin’, was released in 2006. “Say I,” the album’s only single, reached the Top 30 on the US Billboard list. Milian’s representative revealed her departure from Island Records a month after the release of So Amazin’, citing creative disagreements as the reason. Interscope Records signed Milian in 2009. In October 2008, he released a single called “Us Against the World.” Milian joined Young Money Entertainment in 2012, and her fourth studio album will be released this year.
Milian aspired to be an actress in the first place. Her first leading part came in the 2003 film Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and she went on to star in the films Be Cool and Pulse in 2006. Milian starred as the lead in the straight-to-DVD film Bring It On: Fight to the Finish and had a minor role in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Along with Ashley Benson and Chad Michael Murray, Milian appeared in the 2010 ABC Family Original Movie Christmas Cupid.
