Born on April 28, 1992, Robby Blake Bortles is a former NFL quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While playing college football for the Knights, he was named the AAC’s Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and the game’s Most Valuable Player in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Bortles third overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.
In his four years as the Jaguars’ starting quarterback (2014-2018), Bortles broke the team mark for passing yards in a season (2015) and touchdown passes in a single season (2).
The 2017 year was his best, as he contributed to the Jaguars’ first division title and AFC Championship Game berth since 1999. Bortles threw the most interceptions in the NFL (75) in his five years with the Jaguars, and he led the league in that category in 2015.
He spent the final three years of his career as a backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints after being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018.

He was asked about his girlfriend Lindsey Duke by potential employers. “That horrible stuff didn’t happen at all. My girlfriend has asked me a few questions, “- Bortles. What would be some embarrassing questions to ask are, “If we come to town, would she be there for dinner and something like that?”
Bortles, responding to Patrick’s inquiry regarding the celebrity status of his fiancée, said that teams were more curious to see how he would react than anything else.

I think it was sort of the angle to see how I react to that,” Bortles added, explaining that the other party was aware of the situation coming into the meeting. Nothing here is particularly novel for Bortles. There is more of a Duke connection than a football link for the quarterback.

The Rams of Los Angeles
Bortles joined the Los Angeles Rams on March 18, 2019, signing a one-year contract to serve as Jared Goff’s backup quarterback.
The Jaguars had a 20-point lead late in the fourth quarter of their Week 7 blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons, yet Bortles only played three snaps. Former Jaguars teammate Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Rams for a pair of first-round picks in 2020 and a fourth-round pick in 2021 five days before Bortles was reunited with his old friend.
Bortles played one play in a Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team was unable to convert on a third down with only two yards to go. Bortles made his third and final regular-season appearance in week 13’s rout of the Arizona Cardinals. Bortles completed his first pass of the season on a seven-play drive in which he saw action.

New Orleans Saints
After starter Jameis Winston tore his ACL in Week 8 and backups Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian contracted COVID-19, the New Orleans Saints signed Bortles on December 24, 2021, to serve as the backup quarterback for rookie Ian Book.
The Saints placed Bortles on the COVID-19 protocol list on January 6, 2022, making him unable to play in Week 18’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. On January 12, 2022, he signed a reserve/future deal with the Saints. When the Saints decided to sign Andy Dalton, Bortles wanted to be released from his contract and was waived on April 5.
