What is the rating for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?

To no one’s surprise, the new series is classified TV-MA in the United States, with some episodes rated 15 and 18 in the United Kingdom. This series does not pull any punches when it comes to providing a gritty and adult look into another side of Night City. One of the writers compliments Lucy’s use of nanowire to “like a salami” cut the Maelstrom’s gang’s limbs off. To put it another way, anime gore is a go.

Who’s in the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Cast?

Unfortunately, no information about the voice performers for the upcoming anime is currently available. When that information becomes available, we will update this post to keep you informed.

What is the plot of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?

This explanation covers some of the essentials, and we do get a few hints about some of the skills and personalities we’ll see. Lucy is the first prominent figure about whom we have some information. So far, she’s been portrayed as a reclusive and hesitant Edgerunner with unknown motivations. Lucy is clearly designed to represent the type of character that is a formidable warrior with a mysterious backstory, similar to Agent May from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Lucy has a nanowire mod that allows her to cut anything from metal to bone with ease, thus we should expect some bloody scenes whenever she fights.

The other protagonist is David, who is the “street youngster” mentioned in the official summary. He begins as a normal guy, but he eventually turns to a life of crime and develops a particular skill known as Sandevistan, according to the writers. Sandevistan is a modification that uses adrenaline injections in David’s spine to give him super speed, which thus far appears to be on par with a superhero like the Flash for brief bursts. We witness him storm into a room and pick up a girl without anyone noticing him, or shoot a few guys at point-blank range without them reacting. I’m sure there’ll be recharge or a limit to this skill, but it certainly makes David feel like a powerful combatant.

While there would undoubtedly be some combat in the episode, the showrunners also wanted to focus on how ordinary people might use this technology. You are unlikely to receive a modification to improve your dancing skills in the game, but as a regular citizen in Night City, you might be interested in such things. One of the principles that ran through the thoughts of the writers was to preserve a realistic sense of what it would be like to live in the world of Night City for each side.
