Are You Getting SNAP Benefits This Week? Check Your State’s Payment Schedule Now!
Millions of Americans relying on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will see their benefits distributed this week. States have specific schedules that determine when recipients can access their funds, often based on case numbers, Social Security Numbers (SSN), or the first letter of the last name. Here’s what you need to know.
When Will Your SNAP Benefits Arrive?
Alabama: SNAP payments in Alabama are issued based on the last two digits of your case number. For instance, if your case number ends in 65-69, you’ll receive your benefits on January 17. The pattern continues until January 23 for case numbers ending in 95-99.
Delaware: The first letter of your last name determines the distribution date. For example, last names starting with “P” will receive benefits on January 17, while “Q” and “R” follow on January 18. The schedule ends with last names beginning with “X, Y, or Z” on January 23.
Florida: Florida bases its payment schedule on the 9th and 8th digits of case numbers. For instance, numbers ending in 58-60 will get their benefits on January 17, with the process continuing until January 28.
Georgia: Benefits are distributed according to the last two digits of the ID number. For example, IDs ending in 60-69 will receive payments on January 17, while those ending in 90-99 will see funds on January 23.
Indiana: Your last name determines your benefits date. For example, last names starting with “O” through “R” get payments on January 17, “S” on January 19, and the schedule ends with “W, X, Y, Z” on January 23.
Kentucky: Case numbers ending in 8 will receive payments on January 17, while those ending in 9 will get benefits on January 19.
Louisiana: The final digit of your SSN decides your benefit date. If your SSN ends in 6, your benefits arrive on January 17, with payouts concluding on January 23 for numbers ending in 9.
Maryland: Maryland bases its schedule on the first three letters of your last name. For example, last names starting with “NEG” through “PGZ” will receive funds on January 17, and the schedule continues until “WET-ZZZ” on January 23.
Other States’ Highlights:
- Missouri: Distribution depends on birth month and last name. September birthdays with last names L-Z receive benefits on January 17.
- North Carolina: SNAP payments are scheduled by the final digit of the SSN, starting with 8 on January 17 and ending with 0 on January 21.
- Texas: Benefits are based on the Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number, with payments spread between January 17-27.
What Should SNAP Recipients Know?
