Even after several weeks on Netflix, opinions on DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is still strongly divided.
The true crime limited series, starring Evan Peters as the serial killer, examines Dahmer’s troubled upbringing, his crimes, his trial, and his eventual death in jail.
It has been criticized for failing to challenge the worst true crime stereotypes and for humanizing Dahmer, despite the fact that the show’s purpose was to bring attention to Dahmer’s victims (17 men and boys, most of whom were queer men of color).

Where Did Jeffrey Dahmer Pass Away?
On November 28, 1994, Jeffrey Dahmer began working with convicted killers Christopher Scarver and Jesse Anderson. When the three inmates were left unattended in the prison gym’s restroom, Scarver beat Dahmer and Anderson with a 20-inch iron bar.
Dahmer and Anderson were located by police when they returned to his cell early and conducted a search. Dahmer was pronounced dead an hour after being transferred to the hospital, while Anderson passed away from his wounds two days after being taken off life support.
Scarver repeatedly slammed Dahmer’s skull into a wall, causing significant damage. According to Scarver, Dahmer did not scream as he was being assaulted.
Who Is Christopher Scarver?
Convicted American killer Christopher Scarver. In 1994, while they were both inmates at Columbia Correctional Institution, he killed serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Scarver was a trainee carpenter in the Wisconsin Conservation Corps, but he was let go from his position when his supervisor moved on.
Following this incident in 1990, Scarver held the Wisconsin Conservation Corps’ then-new boss Steve Lohman at gunpoint and demanded money, claiming he was having auditory hallucinations. Scarver shot Lohman in the head after becoming enraged at his paltry $15 reward.
After Scarver had John Feyen, the site manager, shoot Lohman twice more in the back, Scarver received a $3,000 check from Feyen.
Scarver was arrested, charged, and given a life sentence for the murder of Steve Lohman after he fled the scene. When Scarver was arrested in 1992, he was sent to the Columbia Correctional Institution.
When Did Christopher Scarver Pass Away?
Christopher is still alive and serving two further life sentences in Colorado’s Centennial Correctional Facility for his role in Dahmer’s murder. During his time behind bars in 2015, he began composing and self-publishing collections of poetry.
According to PopBuzz, he also has a son, now 27 years old, who was born before he went to jail. The publication states that Scarver and his son were at one time alienated but are now in touch via letters.
