Right-wing commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle has criticised President Joe Biden’s plan to cancel student loans, saying the funds will be wasted on “bizarre basket-weaving” majors.
“It’s time to stop this insanity. What I mean is, forking over cash to those who have decided they would rather have a degree in basket weaving than an actual profession, “On Monday, Guilfoyle used a slang phrase for what are commonly understood to be imaginary, pointless college courses when he told Newsmax presenter Rob Schmitt about it.
“And they want all of us, people watching across this country, hard-working men and women, to subsidise their lethargy and their incapacity to even try to contribute to society,” she continued.
Guilfoyle Stated that The Cancellation of Student Loans Was “Unfair” and “Un-American”
She remarked, “That’s not how this country should function.” Just days before payments on student loans were scheduled to resume, Biden made good on a campaign pledge that had been expected to be delayed for months.
He said that those who meet certain requirements would be eligible for a $10,000 reduction in their student loan debt from his government. The measure could benefit up to 8 million borrowers, and it would wipe off $20,000 in debt for those who get Pell Grants from the Department of Education.
Contrary to Guilfoyle’s assertions, the debt cancellation programme is available to anyone with an annual income of less than $125,000.

Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle (/lfl/ GIL-foyl; born March 9, 1969) is an American journalist and former San Francisco district, attorney. She’s a Republican, and she’s now an advisor to Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States.

Having filed for divorce from Donald Trump Jr. in March 2018, Vanessa Trump stated in June 2018 that she was dating Guilfoyle.
