PBS aired the season 11 conclusion of Call the Midwife on May 8. Renewing the show for seasons 12 and 13 has been announced.
Helen George has been cast as Nurse Trixie in the upcoming episodes, which are now in production.
The final episode on May 8 of Call the Midwife Season 11 has viewers wondering about the fates of two cherished characters. After a tumultuous time, everything worked out for the best, and everyone gathered at Nonnatus House for a well-earned celebration.
However, viewers need not be alarmed that this is the episode’s final appearance of Sister Julienne, Nurse Corrigan, and all the other nuns and midwives. I’m happy to report that Call the Midwife will return in both seasons 12 and 13!
Call the Midwife’ will return for Season 12 and 13
More than a decade later, Call the Midwife is still going strong. BBC in the UK announced in April 2021 that the show had been renewed for a 12th and 13th season.
Call the Midwife creator Heidi Thomas says it’s an “amazing luxury” to be able to look back on a decade of the show and know that the journey is far from over. “It’s wonderful to be able to continue for a few more years!” In the same way that Nonnatus House has a storied past and a promising present, we look forward to a future filled with familiar names and new faces, as well as long skirts and new ideas! It’s like having a family: “The stories we tell are like babies—they never stop coming, we love them all, and we swear to do our best by every single one.”

In the United Kingdom, the production of new episodes is now ongoing
Episodes for the next 12th season of “Call the Midwife” have begun filming. During the annual Christmas special, the Turner family is seen relishing the season in a photo released by the show’s official Twitter account. Another article verified Helen George’s reappearance as Trixie Franklin, the nurse. Her pregnancy necessitated her absence from the final few episodes of season 11.

A new ministry among the women of Poplar awaits Helen now that she has gotten back on her bicycle. read a status update on the show’s Facebook page. As she says, “We couldn’t be happier to have her back, and we can’t wait to show you what the future holds for Trixie.”
The 2022 Christmas special of Call the Midwife will be shown later this year. For both the United States and the United Kingdom, it usually airs on Christmas Day The BBC will broadcast the upcoming 12th season in 2023. There’s no word on when the show will premiere in the United States just yet.
Ella Bruccoleri’ believes the show can ‘continue on and on’
There are at least two stars of Call The Midwife who believe that the program will be around for another ten years.
Sister Frances actress Ella Bruccoleri recently spoke with Radio Times about her role in the series.
This is a show that an actor would be able to commit to, she remarked. There’s no end in sight,” he says. if it didn’t, there’d be a commotion
Megan Cusack, who plays Nancy Corrigan in the show, was on the same page.

“It’s a big hit,” she remarked. “This is fantastic. Moreover, everyone is a master at it. The cast, staff, and everyone else involved in the production are all incredible. “That’s what keeps programs running because it keeps people interested.”
“When individuals choose to stay together, they stay together,” she said. Moreover, that’s what makes the show so wonderful. It’s impossible to say for sure. It’s possible that this might continue for many years.”
