Tobias Core, Who Is He?
Season eight, episode twelve of The Blacklist, titled “Rakitin,” features a memorial for Tobias “Toby” Core.
According to the eulogy, Toby lived to be 48 years old, having been born in 1973 and dying in 2021.
There is a severe lack of context regarding who Tobias was. It appears he was not a performer, but rather a beloved part of the production staff.

Death Notice for Tobias Core Was Posted on The Negative List
It’s safe to assume that Tobias worked behind the scenes on The Blacklist.
Although James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Amir Arison, Hisham Tawfiq, Laura Sohn, and Harry Lenni are all familiar faces to viewers, there are many others who work behind the scenes to bring the NBC show to screens who are rarely given the credit they deserve.
It’s unclear what role Tobias Core played on The Blacklist’s crew if any; his obituary suggests he was involved in production or post-production, but not casting or makeup or directing.
Although it is presumed that the “Tobias Core” who is credited on IMDb as an “assistant director” is, in fact, Tobias, there is no way to know for sure. There is no mention of The Blacklist on this person’s IMDb page.
There is also a Tobias Core on Facebook who lives in New York, the same city where The Blacklist is set, although it is unclear whether or not he is the Tobias Core being honoured by the show in 2021.
A Member of The Blacklist Cast Has Passed Away, Right?
Many people have contributed to the making of The Blacklist throughout the years because the show has aired for so long.
This is not the first on-screen death notice for Tobias Core. A tribute was shown on the broadcast for actor Clark Middleton, who died in 2020. In the TV drama, Clark Middleton portrayed the lead character, Glen Carter.

Also gone in 2020 at the age of 81 was actor Brian Dennehy. This character had an appearance on The Blacklist in 2016.
