This major storm coming moves along the East Coast, the Northeast, and mid-Atlantic regions brace for its impact, anticipating heavy wind and excessive rainfall

The National Weather Service cautions about impending snowfall in the northern Appalachians and interior Northeast. A significant major storm coming, not only bringing harsh weather but also a sharp drop in temperatures as a cold front moves across the Midwest and East Coast, as per NWS updates.

The major storm coming raises concerns of “damaging wind gusts” and the potential for tornadoes in regions of the eastern Carolinas, southeastern Virginia, northern Florida, and southern Georgia, as reported by the NWS.

North Carolina and Virginia witnessed a tornado watch until 8:00 p.m. ET

New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s office forecasts “several” inches of rain and strong winds from major storm coming in Long Island, New York City, and the lower mid-Hudson regions, heightening concerns of flooding and power outages. Hochul anticipates New York City receiving up to 3 inches of rain and facing 50 mph winds.

Hochul warns of heavy, wet snow Sunday night in various regions, affecting travel on Monday and potentially causing power outages. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy predicts “localized flooding and severe thunderstorms” across the state, with a chance of snow in the northeastern parts. Hochul and Murphy advise their residents, urging preparedness and vigilance against this major storm coming, recommending attention to weather updates and cautious travel, if necessary.
