Corpus Christi, TX – A chilly night is ahead for Corpus Christi and surrounding areas as temperatures drop into the low 40s tonight, with partly cloudy skies dominating the forecast. Residents should prepare for cooler evenings through midweek as a cold air mass persists across South Texas.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Monday will bring partly sunny skies with high temperatures reaching the upper 50s to near 60. North winds of 10 to 20 mph will keep conditions brisk. Rain chances remain low through most of the week, but a 20% chance of showers is expected late Tuesday into Wednesday.
Beachgoers are reminded to stay alert to rip current conditions despite the low risk reported for area beaches. The NWS advises swimmers to practice safety near piers and jetties and to swim parallel to shore if caught in a current. Water temperatures will remain in the mid-50s, with wave heights of 2 to 3 feet, making conditions manageable for most activities.
By Thursday, temperatures are expected to warm slightly, with highs reaching the mid-60s under mostly cloudy skies. Friday will see the biggest shift, with highs climbing into the 70s. Overnight lows throughout the week will range from the upper 30s to the mid-50s, depending on the day.
Drivers should also take note of changing weather patterns, especially during commutes along Interstate 37 and US-77, where winds could affect visibility.
Looking ahead, the weekend offers mild and sunny conditions with highs near 72. Residents should use the break in severe weather to prepare for any possible midwinter storms later in the month. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updates.
