Fort Worth, TX – A cold front sweeping across North Texas is bringing brisk winds and cooler temperatures as residents start their week. Monday morning is expected to remain chilly, with highs struggling to reach the upper 40s and lows dipping near freezing overnight.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), northwest winds at 10-20 mph will persist through Monday afternoon, with higher gusts possible. Drivers commuting on major roadways, including I-35W, should prepare for strong crosswinds and reduced visibility in open areas. Residents are advised to layer up and limit outdoor activities during the coldest parts of the day.
The temperature will begin a slow climb midweek, with highs near 54 degrees on Tuesday and warmer conditions expected by Thursday, reaching into the low 60s. Lows during this period will hover around the low 30s, keeping mornings cold. By Friday, slight rain chances return as a second system develops, but significant precipitation is not anticipated.
Extended forecasts indicate another round of colder air arriving late next weekend. The NWS suggests monitoring weather updates closely as guidance hints at below-average temperatures from January 19-25.
