St. Louis, MO – St. Louis residents should prepare for freezing temperatures and potentially icy conditions as the week begins. Melting snow during the day will likely refreeze at night, creating hazardous spots on roads and bridges.
Sunday’s high will reach 34°F under mostly cloudy skies, with light winds from the south at 5-10 mph. By nightfall, temperatures will drop to 25°F, raising the risk of black ice on untreated surfaces. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during evening and early morning commutes.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring sunnier skies, but temperatures will struggle to reach a high of 24°F. Overnight, lows will plummet to 11°F. Gusty winds earlier in the week may ease, but the frigid air will persist.
Looking ahead, Tuesday is expected to remain sunny but cold, with a high of 23°F and a nighttime low near 8°F. By Wednesday, temperatures will slightly improve, with a high near 29°F under mostly sunny skies.
With temperatures remaining below freezing most of the week, residents should bundle up and ensure their homes are properly heated. Be mindful of icy patches when walking or driving, especially in shaded or low-lying areas.
