Indianapolis, IN – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for east-central Indiana, with snowfall and freezing temperatures expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Saturday morning. Areas along I-70, including Centerville Road, are bracing for snow accumulations between 2 to 4 inches.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will continue spreading across the region Friday evening, impacting the evening commute and overnight travel. Road temperatures are at or below freezing, causing snow to quickly accumulate on untreated surfaces. Drivers are advised to reduce speeds, maintain extra stopping distance, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak snowfall periods.

Tonight’s low will drop to 20°F, with snowfall likely to persist until early Saturday morning. Gusty winds of up to 15 mph may further reduce visibility. Saturday’s forecast calls for a slight chance of snow in the morning, followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 27°F.

Looking ahead, Sunday will remain mostly sunny with highs around 31°F, but another slight chance of snow returns late Sunday night. By Monday, conditions will stabilize with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 7°F.

Residents are urged to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and check road conditions before traveling. Local officials recommend keeping emergency kits in vehicles and staying off icy roads unless necessary.
