The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the region, with snowfall accumulation expected to reach 1 inch in most areas and up to 3 inches in southern locations near Delaware.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, snow will begin late tonight, starting between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., and taper off by mid-morning Saturday. A special advisory remains in effect for the Delaware River, where low water levels are expected through early Saturday due to strong northwest winds. Navigation hazards could persist at low tide, particularly for smaller vessels. Mariners are advised to avoid shallow areas to prevent running aground. Key low tide times include 1:49 a.m. at Reedy Point, Delaware, and 5:53 p.m. in Trenton.
The weekend weather will remain cold but mostly clear after the snow subsides. Highs will reach 35 degrees Saturday, climbing to 39 degrees Sunday, with sunny skies prevailing. The extended forecast includes a warming trend into Monday, with temperatures nearing 41 degrees.
