Columbus, OH – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, bringing significant snowfall starting Friday. The advisory, announced by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, warns of snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches across several counties.

The advisory begins at 11 a.m. Friday and continues through 7 a.m. Saturday. According to NWS, affected areas include Delaware, Franklin, and Fairfield counties in Ohio, along with parts of eastern Indiana and northern Kentucky. Snowfall will likely create hazardous travel conditions, especially during Friday evening’s commute.

NWS reports the heaviest snowfall will occur Friday afternoon through evening, potentially reducing visibility and increasing travel delays. Residents in impacted areas, including Columbus, Wilmington, and Chillicothe, should prepare for slick roads and plan for slower travel times.

Meteorologists advise motorists to use caution and check road conditions before traveling. Indiana residents can visit 511in.org for updates, while Kentucky residents should consult goky.ky.gov. Ohio drivers can access real-time road conditions at ohgo.com.

In addition to travel disruptions, this winter storm may cause minor disruptions to outdoor activities. Officials urge people to dress warmly, clear sidewalks promptly, and assist neighbors in need.

As the advisory remains in effect through Saturday morning, residents should stay informed by monitoring local weather channels and emergency updates. The snowstorm is expected to taper off by mid-morning Saturday, with temperatures remaining cold throughout the weekend.
