Albuquerque, NM – Light snow across northern New Mexico’s mountains will bring hazardous travel conditions through mountain passes into Monday. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility in areas like the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, where snowfall could reach up to six inches.
According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will persist through Monday morning, with temperatures dropping below freezing overnight. Travel on highways, particularly I-25 near Raton Pass, may become dangerous due to icy patches. Motorists are urged to slow down and carry emergency supplies in case of delays.
Sunday’s high temperatures in Albuquerque will peak near 40°F, but conditions will be colder in the northern regions, with lows nearing 17°F. Monday brings a chance of additional snow showers before clearing skies in the afternoon, leaving highs around 40°F and lows dipping to 22°F.
The rest of the week will bring a warming trend, with sunny skies returning Tuesday and highs climbing into the mid-40s. By Thursday, Albuquerque is expected to see temperatures near 50°F, offering relief from the chilly start to the week.
