Shreveport, LA – Black ice is expected to form on roads in northern Louisiana tonight as temperatures drop below freezing. Motorists traveling along Interstate 30 and surrounding roadways are urged to use caution, especially in areas with lingering slush or melting snow.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing conditions will persist overnight into Monday morning. Black ice, particularly prevalent during early morning hours, poses a significant danger on untreated roads. Drivers should reduce speeds, increase following distances, and remain vigilant for icy patches, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The forecast indicates lows around 33 degrees Sunday night, with light winds and mostly clear skies. Monday’s high will reach 49 degrees, bringing sunny skies but continued brisk conditions. Looking ahead, temperatures will remain near freezing overnight through midweek, with the next chance of rain on Thursday.
