Los Angeles, CA – Wildfire smoke continues to impact air quality across Los Angeles County, with a mandatory no-burn order in place through Sunday. Residents are urged to remain indoors and avoid outdoor activities to protect their health.
According to the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), fine particle pollution from regional wildfires is creating unhealthy air conditions. The advisory includes areas near the 5 and 10 freeways, with the highest concentrations affecting neighborhoods close to wildfire burn scars. Sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory issues, are at greater risk of health complications.
Sunday’s forecast indicates clearer skies with highs near 67°F, but air quality will remain compromised until winds disperse the lingering smoke. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 41°F. By Monday, conditions should improve, with sunny skies and highs of 64°F anticipated.
The AQMD advises running air purifiers indoors and wearing well-fitted N95 masks if outdoor activity is unavoidable. The no-burn order applies to wood-burning stoves, fireplaces, and fire pits in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
Looking ahead, sunny skies are forecast through Wednesday, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the low-40s. Residents are encouraged to monitor real-time air quality updates via the AQMD website and stay informed on wildfire activity through local news sources.
